It's a Christian to be a self-help?

I hear many people say hell in Bible is the grave. I just read John 3:16 in the Message version of the Bible and paraphrased it eternal life as "full and long life. Is there another brand of Christianity popping up that transformed Christianity into a self-help?

"Full and Long Life" is a representation misinterpretation of the Bible. To put it briefly, the version of the message is an interpretation and not word for word.
